New Social Security Scam

The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys recently sent out a warning about a new Social Security Scam that is making the rounds. Be aware of any emails you receive that appear to come from the Social Security Administration; there has been an influx of fraudulent emails sent to individuals with the message “Your Social Security Statement is now available” with a prompt to download an attached document. Once an individual clicks the download link, remote control access is granted to the device.
